About TAMG

Who We Are

Tallahassee Area Musicians Guild (TAMG) is a registered nonprofit corporation in the state of Florida and a federally registered 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization. The TAMG Board Of Directors includes Russ Pangratz, Barrence Dupree, and Russ Hamby.

TAMG was founded by musicians for musicians. TAMG consists of a body of creative minds, including musicians and songwriters from all skill levels and genres of music, professional and amateur. We believe that music is a living thing and an important part of life. Enriching musical experiences should be available to everyone, regardless of their level of skill, talent, genre, or expectations, and that everyone with the right combination of talent and motivation should be able to make a living by making music. Further, we believe it is imperative that all musicians share in the pool of resources organically created by the family called local musicians.

Mission statement

TAMG is committed to encouraging, teaching, and learning from one another; to reaching out to the community to educate and offer opportunities to those who cannot afford to further their musical talents and passions; to protecting the rights and future of the profession of songwriting and performing; to educating, elevating, and celebrating the musician; and to acting as a unifying and advocating force within the music community and the community at large.

What makes TAMG different than any other musicians association?

Most musicians associations are a powerful force in what they can do as an affinity body. TAMG goes further by housing that body in its own venue at J@M with multiple stages, classrooms, and acreage, and giving it access to state-of-the-art lighting, sound, and recording gear.
